Medical Student of the Month
Our March Student of the Month is Prerana Ramesh, MS3!
Prerana’s approach to patient care exemplifies empathy and a deep commitment to addressing the needs of patients. She establishes rapport with her patients through unique acts of kindness and by finding resources to help alleviate barriers to care. Before her pediatrics rotation, she spent hours knitting dozens of stuffed animals that she gave out to the children she saw both in the clinic and in the hospital. She consistently introduces herself and the healthcare team in Spanish to Spanish-speaking patients. She even learned the basics of American Sign Language to introduce herself to a deaf patient. Prerana’s commitment to connecting with her patients in a meaningful way, whether through language or simple gestures, helps foster trust and creates a more compassionate, patient-centered experience throughout their hospital stay. Prerana will make an excellent, compassionate physician.
