Student of the Month

Medical Student of the Month

Our student of the month is Ben Esneault, MS3!

Ben demonstrated attentiveness and commitment to his patients’ health during a recent patient encounter. The patient, admitted for diabetes, was initially unsure why she was in the hospital and hesitant to open up. Ben took the time to listen attentively, building trust and encouraging the patient to open up. Through their conversation, the patient gained insight into how her dietary choices were affecting her health. Ben reinforced her positive habits, like eating vegetables, while gently guiding her toward areas for improvement, like reducing her soda consumption. He explained the concept of whole foods and took the time to teach her how to read a nutrition label. At the end, they worked together to set a small, achievable goal of drinking 1 liter less of soda per day. The patient expressed gratitude for the time and attention Ben devoted to her care, excited to make a change in her health. This encounter exemplifies Ben’s ability to connect with patients, educate with empathy, and empower them to take meaningful steps toward better health.

Congrats Ben!
