ADDITIONAL LEARNING RESOURCES

In addition, our course / clerkship faculty content experts are available to our students during the respective phases of the curriculum that the course/clerkship resides. As well as, the Office for Medical Education has an open-door policy for students in need of academic advising at any point of their medical program under the direction of Kelly Pagidas, MD, (email: Kelly.Pagidas@lsushs.edu).

Peer mentoring for academic guidance is also made available through Student Educators Academic Mentors (SEAM). Mentors provide guidance about study resources, elective study, and time management skills. Mentor/mentee pairs are established at critical time points of the curriculum to include during preparation for the USMLE Step exams that involve upper and lower classmen. The organization also hosts several resource events during the academic year to support the educational mission of the MD program.
