VIRTUAL-REALITY SIMULATION

Located in the Technical Skills Lab of the Clinical Skills Center. Our lab features state of the art equipment that promotes the advancement of surgical skills in a variety of fields such as laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy. These extremely advanced machines use computer graphics combined with realistic surgical equipment to provide learners with very realistic surgical experiences. The simulation based learning provides trainees with the opportunity to improve on surgical techniques needed for the workforce.

The Clinical Skills Center at LSU Health Shreveport has been approved by the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) as Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) and Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES) Test Centers.  To learn more about the programs or to schedule a FLS or FES examination visit the SAGES website: https://www.sages.org/
