TRAINING ROOMS
HOSPITAL WARD
The Hospital Ward, with its unique features, is designed to provide more complex training. It prepares students for the challenges of a clinical ward, where they must manage multiple tasks amidst interruptions and distractions. The four separate simulated patient bays allow for scenarios involving the care of numerous patients and interactions with families and healthcare professionals. Its strategic proximity to the simulation suites offers a variety of options for Interprofessional Education scenarios, enhancing the learning experience.
DEBRIEF CLASSROOMS
Our debriefing classrooms, strategically located near the simulation and standardized patient areas, are designed to create a supportive learning environment. These multipurpose spaces are not just for instruction and feedback, but also for meeting and preparing for simulation and clinical skill activities. This setup is intended to reassure learners and make them feel comfortable, thereby enhancing their learning experience.
DIAGNOSTICS LAB
The Diagnostics Lab is utilized by various programs and learners across campus. One of its primary functions will be to serve as a space for medical students to receive instruction and practice a wide range of physical exam skills. This room is equipped with cameras and microphones, enabling sessions to be recorded later for reinforcement and review. Additionally, it will give the instructor the ability to monitor multiple students or groups of students simultaneously.
ULTRASOUND TRAINING ROOM
In this six-bay training room, our ultrasound procedural models, FAST trainers, and standardized patients are utilized to teach ultrasound guidance techniques.
CARDIOPULMONARY TRAINING ROOM
HARVEY is our Cardiopulmonary Patient Simulator. HARVEY can simulate a wide variety of heart conditions allowing students the opportunity to learn and better understand how each condition effects the chambers of the heart. Using this technology students are able to learn in a controlled environment and facilitators are able to instruct larger groups of students than is possible in a clinic setting.
