Educational Mission

The educational mission of the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine is to educate and embolden the next generation of physician leaders to deliver excellent patient-centered care and advance the well-being of the community they serve. The Doctor of Medicine degree program is a comprehensive four-year course of study that prepares students to become skilled physicians and compassionate healers.

The central hub for Medical Education for our School of Medicine is the Center for Medical Education a transformative educational and wellness structure that offers modern-day educational and wellness environments to support and enhance the personal and professional development of our learners. The Center’s dedicated educational space is equipped with state-of-the-art advanced audio-visual high technology platforms for team-based, problem-based, and simulation-based active learning instructional modalities to support both the small and large flipped classroom learner-centered active learning educational model.
